Washington, D.C.

My trip to Washington was absolutely magical since I was able to see the foundation of the United States and where the founding fathers made decisions. I especially enjoyed the White House, although there was a fence covering partial view of the monument.

Transportation

I took a plane to Washington, D.C. as most would, and how my family and I got around was either through Uber or bikes! We usually rented bicycles since all of the monuments were rather close together so we were lucky enough to sight see everything and pedal past the U.S. Capitol. Additionally, I also took a tour bus the first day we arrived there just to see all of the monuments we should visit and get a brief message of the history behind each building.

Where I Stayed

During my stay at Washington D.C. I stayed at the Marriott Hotel, not a very unique hotel because it can be found anywhere around the globe so nothing special.

Eateries

1. Good Stuff Eatery

This has to be my favorite place to get a hamburger because the bun is so moist and buttery and the burger is delicious. I would say that this burger is tied with In-n-Out even. This eatery is in the small town of Georgetown, a little ways from Washington, D.C.

2. Shake Shack

This is another burger eatery, but this is definitely more aesthetic than Good Stuff Eatery, but I'd say I mostly cam here for their amazing milkshakes. It's almost like the East Coast's version of In-n-Out, so many In-n-Out references. In addition to that, their fries are pretty good too, but they have great desserts and their milkshakes are a must have when you arrive there. I got the salted caramel milkshake so I suggest to get that.

3. Ben's Chilli Bowl

This is a great place to get chili at on a cold night in Washington. I got one of the bowls here the day before I left for New York (see previous article about my adventures in NYC!). Many famous people tend to go to this spot, especially presidents.

Sight Seeing

1. National Mall

I think that this sight seeing place is definitely a no brainer because obviously when visiting the States' capital, you're going to visit the United States' Capitol, the White House, the National Monument, and the Abraham Lincoln Memorial! I think all of these places were what you will expect, but it's a privilege to see all of these places in person which is amazing. There is an exception, though to the Lincoln Memorial. I visited this part of the National Mall several times because its so massive, way larger than I thought it would be.

2. International Spy Museum

I would definitely suggest this museum to visit especially if you have little ones brought on your trip because there are many things to look at what the people that spies did, such as James Bond.

3. Georgetown

This is a small town near Washington D.C. and like I said before just a little ways from there. I love this cute little place because many of the stores are very cute, unique, and authentic which I love. Their houses there are very aesthetically pleasing and great to take pictures next too.
